When is the race taking place?

Marbella Epic Trail will take place on 20 February 2027 in Sierra Blanca, Marbella, one of Spain’s most challenging and spectacular mountain environments.

What distances are available?

The event features three routes designed for different levels of experience, endurance and mountain strategy:

• Tragapiedras – 35,3 km

• Destroyer – 41,5 km

• Epic Trail – 65,7 km

Each distance offers an authentic trail running experience, with technical terrain, demanding elevation gains and real-world navigation in the heart of nature.

Where can I view the route?

GPX files will be available in the routes section for each distance so that you can prepare your strategy, navigation and race plan in advance.

Is there a limit on the number of participants?

Yes. Places are limited in order to ensure:

• the safety of the runners,

• better control of the route,

• and a high-quality mountain experience.

We recommend consulting the official regulations available on the website for further information.

Will the race be fully marked?

Yes, the route will be marked. However, there are junctions, trails and technical sections where it will be essential to follow the official GPS track.

Marbella Epic Trail is committed to a more authentic mountain experience, where navigation and route management are part of the challenge.

Furthermore, as this is an area open to the public, some markers may disappear due to hikers or tourists passing through, a situation which the organisers cannot control 100%.

For this reason:

• The use of GPS is mandatory for all three distances.

• All participants must carry the official route, which must be downloaded in advance.

• The organisers may check your GPS device before you enter the starting point.

What equipment is mandatory?

Mandatory equipment will vary depending on:

Are support runners or pacers allowed?

Pacers and support runners are not permitted during the race.

However, external assistance is permitted at certain authorised refreshment points.

We recommend checking the specific section for participants and companions, where you will find detailed information on:

• permitted access,

• designated areas,

• timetable,

• and aid stations accessible by vehicle, as not all can be reached by car.

What makes the Marbella Epic Trail different?

Marbella Epic Trail is not your typical race.

Here, you come to navigate the terrain, tackle the mountains and conquer some of Marbella’s most spectacular peaks, whilst enjoying an authentic trail running experience.

The distances are longer and more demanding than in many traditional events, so it’s important to arrive physically and mentally prepared.

Starting with the most accessible distance, Tragapiedras, you’ll be able to progress year after year and gradually move on to the major challenges of Destroyer and Epic Trail.
